Huber launches renewable ink options

- New inks composed 80 percent of renewable raw materials

 

- New inks extend portfolio of consumer-friendly and sustainable products

 

European consumables specialist Huber Group has launched a range of mineral oil-free ink options as it pushes the message that inks formulated from renewable raw materials will benefit both print shops and brand owners as through an improved environmental footprint and global image.

 

Huber said the new inks extend its portfolio of consumer-friendly and sustainable products, and increases the lead in mineral oil-free offset printing inks. Modern printing ink technology is mainly characterised by the use of vegetable oil-based, renewable raw materials instead of fossil raw materials.

 

Ink formulations are available for a range of printing processes and applications, including: Reflecta, Resista and Quickfast for web offset with process inks; Corona MGA and Natura GA offset inks for packaging printing; Evolution for heatset web offset; Eco News for coldset web offset; Printlac for sheet-fed and web offset; and special inks for all kinds of offset printing processes.  

 

Huber said the new inks do not use fossil fuels as a raw material, instead using vegetable oil-based raw materials.

 

The mineral oil-free printing inks are composed of about 80 percent renewable raw materials, and work like standard printing inks.

 

Huber said that in the current climate, print shops and brand owners could benefit from these new printing inks if their customers understand the advantages of convenience and the added value that comes with renewable raw materials, with a better image with regard to the environment and global responsibility.
