Also new in the range is a synthetic drum label material which has obtained BS5609 certification for submersion under water. More film materials will be added to the range soon.

Among the line of materials are media certified for use on a number of inkjet presses, including Allen Datagraph and ColorDyne. ‘We worked closely with OEMs to get the materials tested and certified,’ said marketing manager Sara Valiska. ‘With inkjet usage growing, there is a need for these products.’

The company – a sponsor of Labelexpo Americas’ Craft Beverage Day – also showed its range of pressure sensitive craft beverage labels specifically designed for wine, spirits and craft beer applications. The collection includes many products optimized to run on HP Indigo Presses as well as those designed for flexo print technology.

Within the craft beverage label collection is a new line of products developed for craft beer labeling. This product line features an assortment of paper and film products. Many of the facestocks include wet strength, allowing them to withstand moist storage and bottling conditions. While the majority of stocked products are manufactured with PCT- 524 adhesive, an aggressive adhesive which will adhere when condensation is present, Wausau Coated can also custom build constructions to meet unique labeling requirements.

Wausau Coated showcased its expanding digital portfolio which now includes a new line of flexible packaging products optimized for HP Indigo digital presses.

Also on display was the company’s wine label collection, including a variety of products manufactured with Wausau Coated’s new wine label adhesive, WL-100. Developed specifically for wine and spirits labeling, WL-100 has good die-cutting and stripping characteristics. It is also said to provide excellent performance at room temperature and in ice bucket conditions.
