Omet tops 1500 installations worldwide

Italian press manufacturer Omet has reached the milestone of 1500 machines installed worldwide.

Omet has installed 1500 machines worldwide since opening its doors in 1963

Omet was founded in 1963, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. Important developments at the company since then have included expansion of its efforts in Southeast Asia, expansion into the package printing market with the launch of the Varyflex V2 Offset 850, its collaboration with Durst for the Tau 330 HR, the commercial availability of the JetPlus digital inkjet unit and the launch of the iFlex X6.

In March last year, Omet detailed its 600th press installed worldwide for label and package printing, an XFlex X6, and reported here.

The Italian printing equipment manufacturer, which also serves the wet wipe and tissue converting markets, has now confirmed a much bigger milestone in 1500 machines being installed worldwide. This figure includes machines for tissue converting, and label and package printing. Although the specific model and location has not been revealed, the machine was installed at the end of July and highlights steady growth of 10 percent over the last five years.

Omet has a global presence with offices in Spain, America and China, and an interest in new emerging markets.

In a statement, Omet said this milestone has been reached, ‘thanks to our high quality and reliability recognized by the international market of label and packaging printers.

‘Since 1963, Omet’s commitment in designing and manufacturing printing machines for labels and flexible packaging, with a constant look at new solutions and improvements, has led the company to achieve great responses and growing interest from the market over the years.’

Omet said it will use the achievement of reaching 1500 machine installations as an opportunity to continue and reinforce its research, development and innovation efforts to, ‘provide the market with new solutions that can guide the choices of customers and competitors.’
