UPM announces new organization

Biofore company UPM has announced a new business unit to bring together multiple functions under one organization.  

Stakeholder Relations came into effect as of November 1, and integrates communications and brand management, environmental affairs, and corporate relations and responsibility into one organization.

As a result of the creation of Stakeholder Relations, a number of job titles and responsibilities have changed at UPM.

Pirkko Harrela is executive vice-president responsible for Stakeholder Relations, Elisa Nilsson is head of brand and communications at UPM, and Päivi Salpakivi-Salomaa head of environment and responsibility.

Stefan Sundman is head of public affairs and stakeholder relations at UPM Energy, Marko Janhunen is head of stakeholder relations at UPM Biorefining and Robert Taylor is head of communications and environment at UPM Raflatac.

Ulla-Riitta Unkuri is head of stakeholder relations at UPM Paper in Europe and North America, while Markku Herrala is head of stakeholder relations at UPM Plywood.
