Flint plates powering sheet-fed gravure printing at Amcor

- Amcor using nyloprint WSA 52 Digital photopolymer plates in collaboration with 1-TBR Compact sheet-fed gravure press

 

- Amcor satisfied with set-up as printing results are very close to production quality of multi-color in-line gravure presses

 

Amcor Tobacco Packaging is using Flint Group nyloprint WSA 52 Digital photopolymer plates in collaboration with its recently installed 1-TBR Compact sheet-fed gravure press to improve the flexibility and speed to market of its high-quality tobacco packaging products.

 

Amcor installed the latest generation of HC Moog’s sheet-fed gravure press, 1-TBR Compact, at its Rickenbach tobacco packaging site in Switzerland at the end of 2011.

 

The 1-TBR Compact press can be utilized for printing, varnishing, debossing or calendaring.

 

Flint Group Flexographic Products’ nyloprint WSA 52 Digital photopolymer printing plates have been used in addition to metal cylinders for sheet-fed gravure printing, mainly for test samples, prototypes and jobs with short print runs.

 

Amcor said the combination of the 1-TBR Compact sheet-fed gravure press and nyloprint WSA 52 Digital plates improves the flexibility and speed to market of Amcor’s high-quality tobacco packaging products.

 

After six months, Amcor is very satisfied with the set-up, as the printing results are very close to the production quality of multi-color in-line gravure presses.
