Rafsec and Magellan sign RFID licence agreement

Rafsec Oy and Magellan Technology Pty Ltd have signed a licence agreement granting Rafsec the right to manufacture RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Transponders compatible with the new ISO 18000 standard from chips supplied by Magellan or Magellan’s licensed chip manufacturers.

Magellan Technology equipment is exclusively manufactured and distributed through a global network of licensees. Rafsec joins the ranks of other Magellan Technology licensees such as Infineon Technologies AG, The Nippon Signal Co. Ltd, and. Hft & Wessel AG. Sydney, Australia-based Magellan Technology specialises in developing RFID tags and readers utilising a technology which conforms to the upcoming RFID standard ISO 18000-3 mode 2 (FDIS). Magellan Technology has Infineon Technologies, Siemens and Marubeni as shareholders.
