COT upgrades to EFI MIS suite to streamline operations
- Five EFI software tools to be installed at package printer as looks to streamline operations and cut costs from MIS

- Seen as next steps in operational improvement plan

Barbados-based package printer COT Holdings has switched to EFI software to streamline its operations and reduce costs.

COT, which produces folding cartons, labels and commercial print work, as well as undertaking design, previously used other management information software

It is now running EFI Monarch and EFI PrintFlow to streamline operations and reduce costs, as well as EFI PrinterSite Internal. It is currently installing EFI Digital StoreFront and EFI Auto-Count to bring further efficiencies.

Software
EFI Monarch is an automated print production and management system suitable for different sized operations handling basic jobs through to complex projects.

EFI PrintFlow is designed to relieve bottlenecks, reduce waste, increase productivity, adjust to rapidly changing conditions and optimize business operations.

EFI PrinterSite Internal is a web-based tool that allows internal teams to collect and share vital information in real-time and impact the bottom line. The application provides the sales force, customer service representatives, estimators and production planners with direct access to an integrated data network, enabling them to send and review quotes, submit and monitor orders, and review job status and invoices directly from EFI Hagen, EFI Logic SQL or EFI PSI.

EFI Digital StoreFront is an e-commerce solution and EFI Auto-Count is a shop floor data collection system that provides real-time production information. These systems are seen as the next step in COT’s operational improvement plan.

Operational efficiencies
Nigel Worme (pictured, top), chief executive officer and managing director of COT Holdings, said: ‘EFI Monarch is a very powerful, extraordinarily robust system, and we’re seeing huge gains in efficiencies, especially on the scheduling front with the integration to EFI PrintFlow.

‘PrintFlow gives us a clear picture of the shop floor workflow, without the need to print and post schedules, which used to take up a lot of production management’s time each day.’

Worme added: ‘Digital StoreFront will allow us to maximize our digital equipment investments. It will reduce our estimating requirements and ensure consistent pricing for customers, while Auto-Count will further streamline our shop floor workflow.

‘We look forward to getting the systems up and running soon.’
