GlobalVision embeds Quality Control Platform into Esko Automation Engine
GlobalVision has partnered with Esko to integrate its Quality Control Platform into Automation Engine 16.
GlobalVision said embedding its Quality Control Platform within Automation Engine provides an all-in-one quality assurance system that runs as a background process, and results in an annotated and viewable design file within Automation Engine. This further enables rapid and systematic review of all detected packaging and labeling errors throughout the workflow, from upstream design to print.
This delivers quality control tickets with information on the print (Scanproof), text (Docuproof), graphics (Artproof), barcodes (Barproof), Braille (Brailleproof) and spelling (Spellproof).
Jonathan Hou, director of technology at GlobalVision, described today’s label and packaging production environment as complex and ever-changing, ‘making it extremely challenging for companies to balance tight deadlines and quality.
‘The partnership and integration between Esko and GlobalVision combine two best of class technologies to deliver the industry's first fully automated solution to ensure the accuracy of the text, spelling, graphics, barcodes and Braille from initial designs to the final print.’
Automation Engine is Esko’s workflow server. It automates pre-press tasks, which speeds up the process, but also reduces the error rate and the need for operator intervention. Automation Engine is an intelligent system that takes pre-press production to a new level by integrating with business systems as well as web front ends.
‘Being able to process more jobs efficiently, while reducing the inherent risk of errors is critically important for our customers,’ said Geert De Proost, director of software engines at Esko. ‘By integrating GlobalVision’s Quality Control Platform into Automation Engine, we address the growing complexity of artwork quality assurance within a single solution that connects to other Esko applications in Esko Software Platform 16. This enables everyone from graphic and print suppliers to Brand Owners to have access to automated quality control tools.’
The integration of GlobalVision’s Quality Control Platform with Esko’s Automation Engine 16 will be shown at at drupa 2016 on the GlobalVision stand (E20) in hall 7a.
