The Phoenix Challenge Foundation is the premier non-profit organization dedicated to promoting flexographic printing education and training. Each year, it holds a two-and-a-half-day high school skills competition and a year-long project-based college competition.
High school students competing in the Phoenix Challenge are assessed in five areas: operating a flexographic press, prepress, plate making, FTA Level One Certification and Flexo math skills. Industry professionals judge the teams, and winners receive scholarships to further their education.
Bettylyn Krafft, executive director for The Phoenix Challenge Foundation, commented: ‘Mark Andy plays an integral role in the Phoenix Challenge as all of the high schools that participate learn on Mark Andy presses. The Phoenix Challenge provides students with invaluable hands-on experience, allowing them to showcase their skills and creativity while competing in real-world scenarios.’
