VPF receives gold medal from EcoVadis
The company has been placed amongst the top 5 percent of companies assessed in the industry.
VPF, a Germany-based labelstock manufacturer and contract coater has undergone a sustainability assessment by EcoVadis and has been placed amongst the top 5 percent of companies assessed in the industry.
To date, over 130,000 companies in over 180 countries and over 220 sectors have been rated by According to EcoVadis, one of the world’s largest providers of sustainability ratings.
Companies are classified according to their activities in the categories of environment, ethics, labor and human rights, as well as sustainable procurement. Each company is assessed in terms of issues specific to its size, location and industry.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000) and is overseen by a scientific panel of CSR and supply chain experts to produce reliable ESG ratings.
‘Being awarded the gold medal by EcoVadis confirms that we at VPF are also on the right track in the area of sustainability and are a partner to be taken seriously with the documentation that is now required when selecting suppliers,’ commented Ralf Waltmann, managing director at VPF. ‘We are proud of this team performance and that we were able to improve on last year’s already good silver rating by a whole 10 points.’
