South African company invests in fifth Comexi
South African flexible packaging producer, Tropic Plastic & Packaging, has bought a Comexi F2 MBwhich will be installed at its facilities in Durban. This is the third Comexi F2 MB within the last two years and the fifth Comexi press since 2011.

The Comexi F2 MB press is an advanced machine designed to satisfy the print needs of medium runs in the flexible packaging sector of the retail and wholesale channels. This flexographic press shares the patented FLEXOEfficiency concepts of ergonomics and accessibility, as well as the level of performance and robustness with the rest of the Comexi F2 range.
Ismail Simjee, Tropic’s managing director, said: ’At the moment, Comexi is the industry leader when it comes to flexographic printing presses. Their attention to detail is immaculate and every element is tailored for our purposes. We are well positioned to take advantage of the new requirements and developments in the African packaging market, primarily as a result of our investment in innovation and partnership with great suppliers such as Comexi.’
Comexi is represented in South Africa by Advanced Packaging Technology, which is based in Cape Town.
