Bobst and partners host roadshow in the Philippines to present developments in labels and flexible packaging
Bobst and partners have hosted a roadshow in the Philippines to present developments in labels and flexible packaging, covering printing, converting and ancillary equipment.
The roadshow in Manila on August 24 saw Digital Flexo technology showcased for in-line flexo printing in the web-fed flexible and carton packaging and label industry segments, as was Bobst's range of equipment for CI flexo and gravure printing. The multi-technology CL 750D and the solventless SL 750D compact laminators covered developments in converting. Another presentation focused on how Bobst’s range of equipment and process technologies can meet all market needs in vacuum metalizing and the production of clear high barrier substrates.
Partner companies who joined the roadshow included Daetwyler Graphics and Daetwyler SwissTec, DuPont, Esko, Henkel, Macchi and Rossini.
Complementing the technical presentations were those given by representatives of Nestlé and Henkel, who relayed the perspectives of brand owner companies. Henkel also presented the latest adhesive formulations in terms of the safety of food packaging.
Co-hosted by Bobst’s agent in the Philippines, Spicers International, and following on from drupa 2016, the roadshow presented to the country’s printers and converters the tools to enter new markets, and to make their production activities more efficient, profitable and sustainable, both through new and installed equipment. This, according to Eric Pavone, business development director of Bobst’s web-fed business unit, is something the Philippine printing and converting industry is looking for.
‘So interest was part keen on the Bobst solutions we presented in terms of equipment and processes for adding value to functional packaging substrates, as well as on all the technology updates presented by the industry partners who joined us in this event.’
