Dym Machinery prepares for Labelexpo India 2024
The China-based company is collaborating with Flexo Image Graphics for the event.
Dym Machinery, which manufactures an array of non-stop roll-changing products for label and narrow-and middle-web presses, has collaborated with Flexo Image Graphics (FIG) to rope in top label printers in India.
Jesin Wang, global sales director, Dym Machinery, said: 'Dym Machinery’s long-term vision and strategy is to make the company’s non-stop roll-changing systems as a standard configuration in any roll-to-roll printing. In China, we have chosen the top 50 label companies as our entry point to the market. After investing in 2–3 sets of machines, our customers get benefit from the Dym systems and we come to know that many of them are already users of a popular international brand for years.'
According to Wang, Dym’s partner FIG in India can focus on seizing the top 10 label printers in the local market first with service and training. 'We agree with Jesin Wang, this strategy will build up our confidence to sell the Dym systems across India with broader future prospects, making simple and effective alliance with hosts of small and medium-sized customers,' remarked Gaurav Roy, director, FIG.
Wang further stated that most of the top 100 label printing companies in China own Dym non-stop roll-changing systems. 'In addition, we are proud to say five of the world’s top 10 label group companies, viz. MCC (Multi-Color Corporation), CCL Industries, All4Labels and Avery Dennison, are users of Dym systems. Our aim is to rope in the remaining five within the next three years. We are also aiming at achieving 30 percent share in the label market soon.'
She continued: 'With highly dedicated support from FIG we can install Dym systems at the top 20 label printers in India.' Dym Machinery’s current product portfolio consists of non-stop roll-changing systems. Based on its installations in the narrow-width rotary industry, the company has developed high-performance and low-priced wide-width non-stop systems (1000-1600mm), which are ideally designed for applications such as paper bags, paper cups, etc.
The company’s key products consist of HAU non-stop unwinding, WBU/WBC non-stop cold stamping systems, NAC waste removal systems and SAC automatic turret rewinder. 'Many international manufacturers of non-stop roll-changing systems don’t have a competitive advantage when they compare their products’ technical performance and cost-effectiveness to Dym systems,' told Wang.
She added: 'Many of our competitors in China don’t maintain standards; they produce single product designed only for single material. We occupy 80 percent of non-stop roll-changing systems in the country’s narrow web market.' The machines use tension attenuation control technology and servo synchronous tension control technology as well as tension compensation constant technology to develop its non-stop systems for the packaging industry.
Based on its vast installation base across China and beyond, the company receives tremendous technical suggestions from customers in different industries for developing new machines. The company cited that it never used non-silicone adhesive tape with glassine liner in RFID production process. It developed the product as per its customer's need, which was installed by Avery Dennison.
'Our entry-level model is currently under manufacturing process. It may be successfully launched before the end of this year. It will require at least one quarter of application and feedback from the Chinese market. In fact, we have been using this technology for customers over the last two years and we will not dare to apply it on an entry-level model. If the application is successful and mature, it will provide customers with an additional choice and a more competitive device in the market,' informed Wang.
Talking about the Dym’s presence in the Indian market, Roy said that the current global economy was not optimistic and India was no different. 'However, in such an economic situation, we suggest our customers in India to focus on machines that can enhance production, bring efficiency in outputs and increase profit margins. We have the choices for that – Dym non-stop roll-changing systems. These systems have proven success in the Chinese market. At the upcoming Labelexpo India 2024, we are presenting some of the new and latest Dym systems for visitors to have hands-on experience.'
Wang continued: 'India is a highly attractive, emerging market. We attach great importance to the country’s market, which is full of new prospects and developments. Overall prospects in the market are very optimistic and worth exploring.' She added that Dym is looking forward to expanding footprints and roping in some of the top label players in the country.
She further mentioned that one of the key objectives of the company is to focus on quality products and after-sales service, in China and India. 'Good and timely service is one of the secrets to our success. We believe that good after-sales service and technical support training are crucial for our growth in the overseas market. In this regard, Dym Machinery will do more work, such as the introduction of VR after-sales service, a 24-hour timely and rapid response mechanism and sufficient spare parts preparation.'
In the above context, Roy mentioned: 'Being a partner of many other global brands like Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum, Presstek, etc, in addition to Dym Machinery, we maintain after-sales service to the utmost satisfaction of our customers. We have a centralized customer support department to serve our customers across India from our main office in Delhi through branch offices in Mumbai and Chennai.'
Wang also talked about the company's plans for Labelexpo India 2024: 'We hope FIG can show Dym and Mark Andy machines together at the show. We respect our Indian partner and always give them full co-operation whenever they take any decision.' FIG has already received a few orders of Dym non-stop roll-changing systems from a host of label converters in India and neighboring countries. Installations will take place soon.
