Cartor obtains ISCC+ certification

Certification paves the way for the supply of sustainable polymer products.

UK-based Cartor Security Printers has obtained International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC+), enabling the production and supply of polymer-based products that meet both internal sustainability goals and the increasing environmental demands of customers.

The ISCC+ certification, specific to Cartor's UK facility, is pivotal as it now enables the company to offer technologically advanced security print components and products made using circular sustainable materials from a fully traceable and certified supply chain.

These materials incorporate a substantial amount of recycled content and are also largely recyclable at the end of their lifecycle.

Securing this certification showcases Cartor UK's firm commitment to fulfilling its own environmental obligations as well as supporting the environmental claims of its customers.

The process of initially achieving ISCC+ certification necessitated the development of a robust management system with comprehensive procedures and working practices designed to meet the requirements of the international standards.

Andrew Brigham, Cartor’s managing director, said: ‘Achieving the ISCC+ certification is a significant milestone for Cartor. It highlights our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation. We believe this certification will not only strengthen our market position, but also enable our customers to confidently promote their sustainability credentials with the assurance that they are using products made from responsibly sourced and recyclable materials."

Recertification audits will be conducted annually ensuring ongoing compliance.
