Eco Flexibles recognized with Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year title
The Grocer New Product and Packaging Awards 2024 celebrated the most significant innovations in the aisles over the past 18 months.
Eco Flexibles, a UK-based recyclable flexible packaging innovator, has been recognized with the Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year title at The Grocer New Product and Packaging Awards 2024, a prestigious industry awards ceremony.
The company’s collaborative project with fruit and nut snack brand Whitworth’s, the ‘Mission Nutrition’ range, was awarded ‘Champion Winner’ at the ceremony. Comprising a mono polyolefin structure, the project showcases Eco Flexibles’ expertise in producing high-performance recyclable packaging while maintaining unique, eye-catching quality.
The project demonstrated how digital inkjet technologies, backed by design expertise, can rapidly solve many of the classic industry pain points and roadblocks to deliver an entirely new level of production agility and speed to market.
Simon Buswell, director at Eco Flexibles, said: ‘This was an exciting project to be a part of, and we are delighted it has been recognized at The Grocer New Product and Packaging Awards. It was important for us to show that recyclable flexible packaging can still be visually striking and functional, and this ‘Champion’ trophy win reflects the team’s success in expertly delivering on this.’
Eco Flexibles are specialists in helping brands transition from mixed-material flexible packaging to recyclable monopolymer and paper-based alternatives, offering end-to-end pack development services.
A key factor in Eco Flexibles’ success has been bold investment in future-ready technology at its multi-million-pound production site, including two Fujifilm Jet Press FP790s.
‘We are a very forward-looking business and work tirelessly to stay ahead of the curve. We want to be at the forefront of the sustainable, flexible packaging market, delivering solutions that people may not think are possible and ultimately make outstanding eco-conscious flexible packaging the norm,’ added Buswell.
