Parkside receives six award nominations

Flexible packaging specialist nominated to six prestigious industry awards in quick succession.

Flexible packaging specialist Parkside has been celebrating a remarkable September that saw it nominated for six prestigious industry awards in quick succession.

Parkside’s products were nominated for three Packaging News Awards, including a Best New Concept nomination for its Popflex easy-open lidding film, a Consumer Convenience Award for a recyclable paper flow wrap pack developed for chocolatiers Cox & Co, and a Limited-Edition Award for its compostable crisp packet, developed for SMUG Crisps as part of the OpenUp mental health campaign.

The Cox & Co packaging also earned it a Flexotech Award nomination in the Flexible Packaging (Narrow/Medium Web) in paper category. Meanwhile, its compostable coffee bag for Dark Woods Coffee is up for a Packaging Innovation prize at the World Coffee Innovation Awards, while the company’s Business Process nomination means it will be at the Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards for the second successive year after it won the Product Design award in 2023.

‘To achieve six nominations across a number of our products, including one company award, is a testament to the hard work and commitment to excellence shared by the whole Parkside team,’ said Dr Joshua Swann, group technical director at Parkside. ‘Whatever the application requires, we will go the extra mile to develop bespoke innovations to ensure we meet all of our customers’ needs.

‘While customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal, it is a nice bonus to receive recognition from our peers and colleagues in the print and packaging sectors.’

The raft of nominations comes as Parkside continues to grow from strength to strength in both its European and Asian operations following a global management restructure at the beginning of the year.

‘We look forward to using this success as a launching pad to reach even greater heights for our customers as we continue to deliver on their packaging goals,’ Swann. ‘It’s exciting for us to have so many awards ceremonies in the calendar – but it’s our customers who should be really excited about what’s coming next.’
