ABG reports increased demand for retrofit offering
Customers seeking improved performance and increased flexibility are creating high demand for a manufacturer's retrofit offerings.

AB Graphic International (ABG) has been experiencing a surge in demand for its retrofit services, with a remarkable 239 percent increase in sales and over 170 installations already completed in 2024.
This surge underscores a growing trend in the industry: businesses are seeking cost-effective ways to enhance their existing equipment rather than investing in entirely new machinery.
ABG offers a comprehensive range of retrofit options, from adding physical modules to upgrading software, providing customers with the flexibility to tailor their equipment to evolving needs.
One of the most popular retrofits is the Flat Bed Foil Module, available in two options: the 25-tonne and 50-tonne Big Foot units. These units can be used for foiling, embossing, or combining both to create striking effects and premium finishing.
Also popular in the embellishment arena is the High-Speed Screen Module, which enhances labels and packaging with a range of varnish effects, transforming products with matt and gloss varnishes as well as tactile finishes.
Among ABG’s most in-demand retrofits is the re-register lamination upgrade, allowing customers to produce multi-layered labels for peel-and-reveal products by laminating a pre-printed web to the main web in perfect register.
From a software perspective, ABG Connect is a key upgrade. It aims to revolutionize automation in the labels and packaging market by providing workflow efficiency. It enables automatic job set-up and changeover in just a few milliseconds with minimal operator intervention, therefore improving production efficiencies.
Peter Redmond, ABG’s director of service, said: ‘Demand for ABG’s retrofit offering has risen over the last few years, allowing our customers to adapt their machinery as their business grows and changes. We’re proud to have such a dedicated team of engineers, trusted by our customers to enhance their production capabilities.’
