Rhyguan readies for Labelexpo India 2024

The company collaborates with FIG, its distributor in the region, to showcase key Rhyguan technologies.

Rhyguan has confirmed its participation at Labelexpo India 2024. Its Indian distributor Flexo Image Graphics (FIG) will hold live demonstrations of some the key Rhyguan technologies.

Happy Cao, export manager at Rhyguan Machinery, said: ‘Significant opportunities are emerging in the region’s ever-growing label and packaging industry. On the innovation and technology front, we are introducing highly advanced die-cutting and finishing machines, which are automated, efficient, and cost-effective for high-quality labeling offerings.

‘We also aim to build long-term relationships with our clients in India by providing them customized options and responsive service through our localized support from FIG.’

She further stated that digital printing is becoming more prevalent than before and thus, there is a growing need for finishing equipment that can be integrated with digital workflows. This will result in quicker turnaround times, efficient short-run, variable data printing jobs and more.

Gourav Roy, director of FIG, commented: ‘Certainly, manufacturers nowadays are incorporating advanced automation features into finishing equipment to reduce manual intervention, minimize error, and increase production speed through automated setup, job changeover and real-time monitoring systems. This is how Rhyguan finishing machines are designed to handle varied substrates and finishing processes, such as die-cutting, varnishing, laminating and foil stamping—enabling label producers to offer more customized and value-added products.’

According to Cao, Rhyguan is focusing on automation, advanced technologies and customer centricity while developing new products.

‘In India as well as other growing regions, we actively engage with our customers and collect feedback from them to understand their evolving needs and challenges in the label and packaging segment,’ commented Cao. ‘In India, we provide label manufacturers full access to state-of-the-art machines and latest technologies, ensuring that they stay ahead of competition. In this respect, FIG, as Rhyguan’s trusted distribution partner in India, plays a pivotal role. They have been advancing Rhyguan in the finishing segment of the Indian label industry.’

Roy added: ‘We offer comprehensive technical support, installation service and training programs, which eventually help label manufacturing businesses effectively integrate new equipment. In this, we help Rhyguan understand the unique needs of the Indian label printing and production market and assist them in customizing products to meet the local demands.’

FIG operates a dedicated after sales team to ensure minimal downtime through prompt maintenance and support. Its centralized customer support department is operated from its main office in Delhi connecting to Mumbai and Chennai branches.

‘It is crucial for every client. To stay abreast of what our customers need in the industry, we keep stay updated with the latest market trends and attend all major industry events, shows, seminars, etc,’ shared Roy.

Cao revealed that Rhyguan’s range of products, focus on automation and sustainability, and strong localized support from FIG, makes the machines different from others.

‘When we look at the Indian market, it’s filled with many low-cost machines from local and other Asian manufacturers, which eventually create price pressure on Rhyguan’s premium product range,’ she mentioned. ‘Despite all challenges, we can tap the Indian market by offering machines that meet both cost and performance. In this regard, we appreciate FIG for their commitment to help us reach a broader customer base across the country. As more businesses in India are adopting digital technologies, there is increasing demand for digital finishing solutions, which we are providing suitably for both short and medium-run jobs.’

According to the company, it is leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies to offer smart and affordable machines with remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance features as key differentiators.

Rhyguan has upgraded silkscreen modules to increase speed and material compatibility.

‘This upgrade helps label manufacturers indulge in faster production of diverse labels, especially those using film materials,’ said Cao. ‘Additionally, our foil systems now feature enhanced pressure control (up to 60T), allowing high-quality foiling and embossing embellishments, particularly on luxury labels. Also, Rhyguan Smart-450-HMS has been improved for accurate defect detection.’

On the sustainability front, Rhyguan has set up a new production facility in Ruian City. The facility utilizes solar panels to minimize environmental impact by reducing carbon emissions.

Talking about Rhyguan’s future, Cao said: ‘We are prioritizing the newer development of digital finishing technologies, as seen in products like Rhyguan DIG330Plus, which offer high-precision digital die-cutting with no need for traditional tooling. In our long-term development plan, we have set our objectives to revolve around sustainability and advanced automation. Moreover, we are integrating environmentally responsible technologies such as UV and LED curing options in our machines.’

As per Cao, Rhyguan has gained ground in India with a gradual increase in client base.

‘From 2016 to 2024 (August), we have had installed 64 Rhyguan machines across India. This data doesn’t include Luster Smart cameras, which accounted for 31installations during the period,’ said Cao.

She advised the Indian label manufacturers and converters to embrace technological advancements to succeed, adding that the visitors can experience all the latest technologies of Rhyguan at Labelexpo India 2024.
