Avery Dennison has partnered with the Carbon Trust, a global climate consultancy, to create a custom carbon footprinting tool.

The bespoke carbon footprinting tool will help Avery Dennison continue its efforts towards transparency and continuous improvement in measuring and reporting on its label products' environmental impact. It will use verified primary data from Avery Dennison's operations to measure the impact of current and future label products more accurately.

Claudia Mariconda, global director of sustainability at Avery Dennison materials group said: ‘As a company, we’ve monitored and assessed the sustainability of our products for the past ten years, and this is another important step forward in our goal of providing the most accurate information to our customers.’

The tool will provide information on the greenhouse gas and water footprint of an expanding array of Avery Dennison’s label and packaging materials products.

These products include selected faces, liners and adhesives. The footprint reports are in line with the reporting and verification methodology of GHG protocol product standard, PAS2050 and ISO-14067.
