RSI Systems was founded in 1994 with a focus on thermal inkjet printing, from packaging line coding and marking, to high-speed product identification, authentication and tracking serialization systems.

Markem-Imaje is a global manufacturer of product identification and traceability systems, offering a full line of inkjet, thermal transfer, laser and print-and-apply label systems.

The acquisition, effective July 1, enables Markem-Imaje to offer thermal inkjet printing for high-resolution codes, such as complex 2D barcodes, which can be used for traceability, anti-diversion and promotional coding applications.

Combining the global sales and service network, and ink development of Markem-Imaje with the products and thermal inkjet expertise of RSI will enable Markem-Imaje to deliver new innovations in high-resolution thermal inkjet printing and ink solutions that its customers can use for demanding high-speed, traceability printing applications as well as standard coding and marking applications worldwide.

RSI will continue to offer its leading products and services to its customers under the RSI brand while operating as a separate division of Markem-Imaje.

Markem-Imaje president Serge Kral said: ‘Markem-Imaje customers will benefit from having an easy to manage, reliable high-resolution printing solution to meet their marking and coding needs.

‘Existing customers, distributors, and suppliers of RSI can expect continuity in their product offering and service, enhanced by added operational support from Markem-Imaje.’
