acpo awarded TLMI LIFE certification

LIFE, an abbreviation of label initiative for the environment, is a program of the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute tailored specifically to the narrow web printing and converting industry.

The LIFE scorecard and auditing process covers 31 metrics across four categories: clean production techniques, energy and greenhouse gasses, product design and management practices.

The acpo assessment was performed over two days by NSF International, an accredited third party certification company.

Jack Mitchell, director of sales and marketing at acpo, said: ‘We are pleased to join those companies previously committed to sustainability. Project LIFE will help acpo elevate the environmental consciousness of our company.

‘Being a manufacturer of self-wound overlaminates with water-based adhesives, acpo has already made a commitment to ecologically sound processes that minimize negative environmental impacts. We will utilize this tool as another component in our continuous improvement efforts.’
