LATMA announces conference and award details
LATMA, the Australian label association, has announced details of its annual conference, which will be held in Kiama between April 4-5.
The highlight of the event will be the LATMA Label & World Label Awards, when all entries that have received best in show, gold, silver or bronze awards will be on display, along with honourable mentions.
‘Many Converters will be honoured to use these prestigious awards to prove their identity within the highly specialised world of labels and packaging,’ said LATMA president Allan Dabscheck. ‘We all know from experience that no one can easily adopt specialty skills, high capital investment and a knowledge base that already spans more than half a century.
‘All these things are learned over time at great expense combined with a heavy investment in people and equipment.’
A range of speakers and panels will tackle subjects including maintaining a healthy business through challenging times, updates in industrial relations and employment law, and trends in prime packaging, with a particular focus on the growing influence of local labels at top retailers.
The conference will also feature a mini trade show, giving convertors the opportunity to network with suppliers on new innovations and product updates.
Dabscheck also urged members to consider nominating a LATMA young manager to attend the global Young Managers Congress, which takes place at Michigan University, Chicago, on September 11-12.
LATMA will heavily subsidize one or two places and the successful candidate(s) will be announced at the April conference. Submissions should be sent to info@latma.com.au by March 14.
On return, the applicant must be prepared to write about the experience for publication both on LATMA’s website and in trade magazines.
