AWA workshop to explore imports, tariffs and more
The workshop on March 19 will be held as part of the AWA Global Release Liner Summit 2025.

Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) will host the AWA Workshop: Import/Export, Tariffs & Market Dynamics as part of the AWA Global Release Liner Summit 2025, set to take place on March 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. CST at the University Club of Chicago.
This workshop will focus on the impact of import/export volumes, particularly from China; changing tariffs and the uncertainties and impact on the industry; and the effects on global market dynamics. With the threat of low-cost or subsidized imports and with the evolving tariff landscape, particularly the recent changes to US import tariffs, this session is designed to provide insights and strategies to help companies navigate these challenges successfully.
At the workshop, attendees will hear insights from AWA’s import white paper. They will gain access to findings on global trade, import challenges and the latest market dynamics affecting the release liner industry.
There will be a discussion on US import tariffs and the release liner value chain. This discussion will explore how rising US import tariffs are increasing costs for manufacturers in Europe and Asia, prompting them to explore new markets in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa. It will also delve into the logistical challenges and heightened competition they face as they adjust their supply chains to these emerging regions.
Participants will be able to discuss these changes with industry leaders and peers to better understand their broader implications and discover practical strategies for adapting to a rapidly evolving global market.
This workshop provides an opportunity for stakeholders across the release liner value chain to come together and address the critical issues surrounding international trade, tariffs and market dynamics. It will also serve as an essential platform for sharing strategies that can help businesses remain competitive in today’s globalized economy.
