- Leaving to pursue new opportunities, either in the UK or Canada
After 12 years working with press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer (KBA), managing director Christian Knapp is to leave the company at the end of July.
Knapp joined KBA (UK) in January 2001, having spent 12 years with manroland, concluding as its deputy vice-president of sales.
He has decided to leave KBA to pursue new opportunities. He will initially take a six-month break at his family home in Florida whilst seeking a fresh challenge either in the UK or in Canada.
Knapp said: ‘My time at KBA has been very enjoyable and rewarding during an exceptionally challenging period in the UK printing industry.
‘Much has changed over the past decade but I have always enjoyed terrific support from the KBA team in Germany and in Watford, and I have made many friends across the UK graphics sector. It has been a difficult decision but I leave KBA UK in a strong position and wish the company and my successor every good fortune.’
Ralf Sammeck, chairman of KBA (UK), added: ‘Christian has given us 12 years of excellent service moving KBA upwards from sixth to second position in the UK printing machinery sector.
‘KBA (UK) is in a solid and strong position in most of the markets it serves, and we wish him well and all the success and happiness.’
