Korozo Group, a sustainable flexible packaging specialist, has published its latest GRI-approved Sustainability Report, confirming the progress towards creating a safe, secure, circular future.
The Korozo Group 2023 Sustainability Report centers around the three pillars of People, Packaging and Planet. Each is an important focus for the group, with substantial improvements being made across the board over the reporting period. Improvements continue to be made and will be included in future reports. Recent examples include receiving an EcoVadis Silver Medal and achieving a CDP A rating.
According to the report, the company achieved a 16 percent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions reported versus the previous year, with electricity savings of 1,037,792.45 kWh and 21,176.56 cubic meters of savings in natural gas from energy management and efficiency initiatives. Sixty-four percent of the group's total packaging production in 2023 was recyclable, with 1,400 metric tons of recycled material used during production. The company designs and optimizes all products to be recycle-ready by 2030 and has defined targets that clearly state the proportion of recycled content to be included in food and non-food packaging in the future.
The report updates in the packaging section also mentions collaborating with partners to increase the availability and use of recycled content and partnering with household names and global brands to create impactful packaging that is sustainable by design.
