GMerix invests in ETI Converting Cohesio coater

Canadian company expands toll coating services with Cohesio 40-inch coater.

GMerix, a coating and slitting services specialist, has invested in ETI Converting’s Cohesio coater to expand its production capabilities with the ability to coat a wide range of materials for tape and label stock manufacturing.

This latest investment underscores GMerix’s commitment to delivering innovative, high-precision pressure-sensitive materials across various industries, including medical, biopharmaceutical, automotive, food and packaging.

GMerix selected ETI’s coater guided by its flexibility and robust capabilities. The production line features versatile adhesive coating units—gravure and Mayer rod—that offer precise control over coat weights.

Additionally, the coater includes a 60-foot, four-zone fully electric oven, capable of processing various water-based adhesives and coatings. This setup builds on GMerix’s expertise, particularly for coating inkjet receptive materials.

‘We are dedicated to building strong, lasting partnerships with our customers. Our new ETI water-based coater expands our capabilities, allowing us to apply a range of water-based adhesives and coatings, including inkjet receptive options. We provide a comprehensive suite of services, including R&D, pilot coating, full-scale production, and slitting and rewinding,’ commented Ali Rabea, director of product development and operations at GMerix.

This investment aligns with GMerix’s strategy to adapt swiftly to market demands and consistently deliver top-quality products with speed and efficiency.

GMerix will exhibit at Labelexpo Americas 2024 in booth 3542, where its team will be forging new connections and establishing the company as one of the leading partners in toll coating and toll slitting.
