Third Thallo variable repeat web offset press sold after successful DG press Open House
DG press sold its third Thallo during its three-day Open House on June 16-18, with a customer signing a letter of intent to purchase one of the new variable repeat web offset printing presses at the event.
The DG press Open House saw a working 7-color Thallo, destined for Vuye Flexible Packaging, and a 5-color version, currently being built for Wesselink Flexibel Drukwerk, presented to an international audience. Both of these presses are scheduled for installation in July. A 2-color model was also exhibited, showing off a new rail-based sleeve handling/changing system.
The 7-color Thallo was demonstrated printing both shrink sleeves and an in-mold label job, as was a new feature in the ability to run the web backwards to allow material already in the press to be used for set-up of the next job. This new feature will minimize set-up waste.
Around 50 to 100 people a day visited the DG press Thallo launch event in The Netherlands, and Remko Koolbergen, DG press director, said: ‘We knew about the huge interest in our Thallo printing press, but were positively surprised by all of the excitement after our demonstration show.
‘All our customers are impressed of the performances and productivity of the Thallo press. The visitors were also very interested in all of the attending suppliers. We are proud to announce the sale of our third Thallo printing press and are already calling this event a big success for our company.’
DG press is exhibiting at Labelexpo Europe 2015, as well as next year's drupa where the third press will be shown via a live video stream connection with the company's facility. DG press has outlined a manufacturing schedule of four Thallo presses in 2016.
