Schreiner MediPharm develops multi-functional labels with NFC for SHL Medical

The labels meet the exacting demands placed on the injection systems in terms of quality and patient orientation, and include innovations such as an NFC chip integrated into the Amber auto injector model from SHL Medical.

NFC integration allows users to interactively access important information and services from the label through a smartphone. Further, the label for SHL Medical’s Molly device includes a temperature indicator that produces a reversible color shift when a defined ambient temperature has been reached. 

Other developments include the use of an anti-slip varnish to improve grip and prevent slipping during injection. An integrated hologram helps the user identify the product as an original, and a printed QR code provides a link, via smartphone, to a website with additional product information. 

SHL Medical develops auto injectors for leading companies in the biopharmaceutical industry. The design of the company’s various systems is focused on user friendliness and intuitive operation, in order to make self-medication easier for patients.

In addition to the functional elements, the new labels allow for customized branding and emphasize the manufacturer’s brand presentation.
