Dow offers new adhesive at Labelexpo Europe 2017
At Labelexpo Europe, Dow Adhesives, a global business unit of DowDuPont Materials Science division, has released its latest innovation in its acrylic adhesives portfolio: Robond Invisu PS-7910.
Robond Invisu is specifically designed for self-adhesive labelstock producers targeting the growing market of film-based labels. This water-based acrylic adhesive provides a highly efficient and multipurpose product that addresses some of the most critical challenges of a broad range of filmic label end-uses, from food to beverage, home and personal care products, and durable goods.
‘The new Robond Invisu PS-7910 technology builds on Dow’s deep-routed expertise in water- borne acrylic adhesives, to enable the development of multipurpose filmic labels for today’s demanding packaging applications,’ said Alberto Lora Lamia, EMEA marketing manager acrylic adhesives. ‘A tailored set of performance features makes this a suitable solution for multiple end-uses, offering wide service temperature characteristics. Thanks to its cohesive strength, high and stable to environmental conditions, it supports efficient conversion at all stages of the labeling value chain.’
Dow’s new adhesive for filmic labels is in compliance to food contact regulation EU 10/2011 with reduction factor 2 for certain types of food. Furthermore, it offers an effective conversion to narrow web sizes, granted by remarkable and stable cohesion, independent of storage conditions.
Also at the show, Dow Adhesives and Dow Performance Silicones are showcasing as one, after Dow fully acquired Dow Corning in June 2016.
Dow hopes this collaborative approach will drive innovations for the company and the wider pressure sensitive industry.
Meike Wesseling, EMEAI marketing manager pressure sensitive materials, said: ‘We are devotedly working with the whole value chain to fulfill the industry’s pressing needs. The solutions we are bringing at Labelexpo help customers take advantage of emerging trends, while accelerating innovation and time-to-market.’
‘We are offering customers the opportunity to serve attractive industry segments and benefit from cost and sustainability advantages,’ Lamia, added. ‘By combining our core strengths in R&D, industry expertise and worldwide geographic reach, our customers gain a preferential access to a reliable, full-service supplier that can help solve their toughest challenges.’
