Flint Group intros BioCure F renewable ink system

Printing consumables manufacturer Flint Group has launched BioCure F, a new UV Flexo renewable ink system designed to offer properties available in other UV Flexo ink systems, but using bio-renewable raw materials.  BioCure F is available in the four process colors, as well as pantone shades to enable sustainable printing for any graphic design.

The company said it offers: excellent viscosity, good run ability and overall ease of use for high productivity; high color strength, resulting in low ink usage and cost savings; consistent density for high productivity with consistent print quality, a reduction in waste and an increase in press uptime; excellent adhesion to multiple substrates, allowing printers to use the same ink for a UV synthetic application and a paper label, thereby reducing ink inventories; low foaming and minimal plate swell for extended print runs and increased uptime; and bio-renewable materials, providing printers with a sustainable solution with an environmentally friendly ink.

The renewable ink system has been tested at customer sites, with Flint Group narrow web product manager Tom Hammer saying: ‘We had been asked by leading converters and consumer product companies to develop a UV Flexo ink that rivals robust UV Flexo technology, but one that uses bio-renewable materials.  We feel that BioCure F shows Flint Group’s ongoing commitment to develop greener, more sustainable products to help support the market’s environmental requirements.’

Jennifer Joyce, Flint Group global product director, added: ‘BioCure F is the next generation in UV Flexo technology for Flint Group.  Technical performance is excellent with the added benefit of the renewable resin technology.  As a responsible supplier we are aware of local regulations and are proud to provide a fully approved sustainable ink solution to our customers around the world.’
