Huhtamaki updates executive management team
Huhtamaki has appointed Olli Koponen as executive vice president (EVP) of its Flexible Packaging business unit, alongside the interim promotion of Petr Domin to fill in his previous role in the Molded Fiber segment.
Koponen, most recently EVP of the company’s Molded Fiber business unit, has worked with Huhtamaki since 1990 including in several leadership positions in Finland, Turkey, Hong Kong and Russia.
He is succeeding Shashank Sinha, who has decided to leave Huhtamaki to pursue new career opportunities outside the company.
Following Koponen's appointment to head the Flexible Packaging segment, Petr Domin, managing director of the group’s molded fiber business in Europe, has been appointed as interim EVP of the Molded Fiber business unit. He has also has been with Huhtamaki since 1990 and he has held several management positions within the group's molded fiber business.
Both Kopnen and Domin will report to Huhtamaki CEO Jukka Moisio, who said: ‘I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate both Olli and Petr for their new assignments. It pleases me that we can fill both positions from within the Group. In addition I would like to thank Shashank for his contribution and wish him all the best in his future challenges.’
Huhtamaki is a global specialist in packaging for food and drink, with a network of 69 manufacturing units and 23 sales offices in 34 countries.
Following the changes, the members of the group executive team, alongside Moisio and Koponen, are now: Thomas Geust, chief financial officer; Sami Pauni, senior vice president of corporate affairs and legal; Teija Sarajärvi, senior vice president of human resources; Clay Dunn, executive vice president for North America; and Eric Le Lay, executive vice president of the Foodservice business unit in Europe, Asia and Oceania.
