Treofan names new CEO
Treofan has named Dr Walter Bickel as its new chief executive officer (CEO), replacing Peter Vanacker who has decided to voluntarily step down from the role.
Bickel joined Treofan in February 2014, and is its current chief financial officer. Treofan said Bickel has previously made a name for himself in completely restructuring companies and implementing efficiency-boosting programs at SMEs and groups.
As of March 1, Bickel will take on the role of CEO alongside his existing position as chief financial officer.
Joining the management team on February 1 is Carolyn Wagner as head of Treofan’s Packaging business unit.
After graduating in packaging engineering, Wagner began her career at German cartonboard manufacturer Weig-Karton. In 2001, she joined SCA Packaging, initially as a key account manager. After SCA Packaging was acquired by DS Smith in mid-2012, she became managing director for the Germany-Austria-Switzerland region
The changes follow Vanacker deciding to leave Treofan voluntarily. His last official day in post is February 28. He joined Treofan as CEO in 2012 from Bayer, where had enjoyed a career spanning more than two decades.
‘The owners regret Mr Vanacker’s decision,’ said Stefan Pfander, chairman of the board of Treofan. ‘We would like to thank him for his successful strategic realignment of the Treofan Group, and we wish him all the best in his new professional challenge.’
