COE adds graphic design to services
Carl Ostermann Erben (COE) is expanding its range of services by adding graphic design for packaging and labels, meaning that, in the future, the supplier of printing plates will adapt the design to the printing process right from the start in order to be able to guarantee ‘a perfect print quality’.
COE said its new Graphic Designs range ‘achieves the aim of providing solutions from a single source’, with customers saving costs and time with the new concept. The error rate will fall, the company said, as double work on motifs will no longer be incurred. Previously, an agency created the design of the labels and packaging, with the repro house revising the data again and producing the printing plates for the corresponding printing shop.
COE added that since the design has an ‘enormous influence’ within the process chain, time-consuming and avoidable reproduction work is often required on designs that are not ideally set out from a printing technology point of view, slowing down the whole process for printing shops.
‘Our everyday work is focused on preparing data and producing printing plates,’ explained COE managing director Andreas Segelken.
‘With our Graphic Designs range, we are not only creating appealing designs, but at the same time we consider the printing parameters of the printing shop that subsequently carries them out.’
The new service is integrated in the coe center IT platform, which shows the central data administration online for all those involved in the process for transparency and a time-efficient approval processes, COE stated.
