BPIF Labels, the recently launched association for the UK’s label converting industry, will hold its Spring Technical Seminar on Wednesday May 23 at the Barcelo Hotel in Daventry, UK. Speakers from leading industry suppliers will be focusing on developments at the drupa trade show.
The seminar will be opened by BPIF Labels chairman John Bambery, followed by a keynote presentation on the future technical development of the label printing industry by Andrew Gray of consultancy Print Future.
Digital label printing developments will be covered by speakers from Xeikon, Domino, EskoArtwork and HP Indigo, while Federico d’Annuncio from Nuova Gidue looks at the breakeven point between digital and conventional press technologies.
The afternoon session sees presentations on flexo platemaking from Asahi and digital finishing from AB Graphic, followed by a discussion on the future of recycling. The final session gives delegates an update on the latest code of practice for the printing of labels in the food and drink industry, and Debbie Waldron-Hoines from the European Flexo Industries Association explains the latest options for training in new technologies. The seminar finishes with Colin Phillips of Herma giving a talk on his new role within Finat. This is followed by a networking dinner.
