US carton printer opts for KBA
California-based Everett Graphics is investing in a KBA Rapida 106 sheet-fed offset press, which will feature 10 printing and coating units.
Other features of the press include an optional package for printing on corrugated, a DriveTronic SIS no-sidelay in-feed, UV capability, QualiTronic in-line color control and ErgoTronic ACR register control. The Rapida 106 is due to be shipped to the US package printer this summer
Everett Graphics is a leading developer and manufacturer of packaging for the food processing, beverage, pharmaceutical and technology industries, and for health and beauty products. President Whit Everett has been looking for a press that could handle extra-heavy, rigid substrates as well as corrugated for over three years. KBA said it proved to be the only manufacturer with the superior know-how required to offer the type of press that he had in mind: capable of printing coasters and even sheet metal.
Everett Graphics is considered one of the leading folding carton manufacturers in California and has received a string of awards for the quality of its printed and finished products. Protecting the environment is a major corporate objective. The Rapida’s advanced level of automation, in-line quality monitoring and array of waste reducing features will help Everett Graphics to further enhance its green credentials, KBA said.
