Screen launches digital label press
Screen Europe has appointed Dantex, supplier to the packaging sector, as distributor for the now commercially available Truepress Jet L350UV digital press in Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK.
Screen will also work with other specialist partners across the EMEA region to distribute the Truepress Jet L350UV.
A preview model was first shown at Drupa 2012. The press has since been further refined, ready for the launch of the production version and its commercial availability throughout the EMEA region.
The first European showing of the Truepress Jet L350UV will be at Labelexpo Europe 2013, taking place September 24-27 in Brussels, Belgium. The press will be shown by both Screen and Dantex.
Screen claims the Truepress Jet L350UV is the fastest digital label press currently available at over 16 sq m of label stock per minute on a 350mm web, and delivers photo-realistic quality, fast job turnarounds and stable output.
Combined with advanced color management technology based on Screen’s Equios universal workflow, the Truepress Jet L350UV creates smooth, vivid gradations. To provide a wider color gamut than is typical with the four-color process, the press uses Screen’s proprietary high-definition UV inks. Optional opaque white ink further boosts color vibrancy while enhancing application versatility by allowing printing on transparent film and metallic foil. The press incorporates single-pass grayscale piezo printheads with a minimum droplet size of three picolitres. Printing resolutions of 600 x 600dpi combined with the very small droplet size gives sharp, well-defined images and text.
The press is engineered as either a roll-to-roll press for near-line finishing, or with the ability to feature automated in-line finishing such as lamination, die-cutting, foiling, coating and embossing etc.
Brian Filler, president of Screen Europe, said: 'Screen is committed to providing the packaging industry with a choice of high-quality and ultra-reliable imaging and digital printing solutions that deliver flexibility, low cost of ownership and a swift return on investment. The Truepress Jet L350UV is a superb digital press designed to meet the needs of the market to produce highly competitive high-quality, high-value labels.
‘Our partnership with Dantex is perfect for this new press. They have considerable experience of selling, installing and supporting specialist production equipment within the packaging industry which makes them an excellent partner for us and our customers across the region.’
Richard Danon, Dantex chairman, added: ‘Dantex is delighted to have formed this new relationship with Screen for the sales and marketing of Truepress Jet L350UV. As a specialist manufacturer and supplier to the Label Printing market, we regard this addition to our product portfolio with a great deal of interest and excitement, our company has a wealth of experience in the label market, and with Screen’s expertise in imaging technology we have established a formidable partnership to bring this leading technology to our customers.
‘Our agreement with Screen covers sales rights to most of the countries where Dantex offices are located. This will allow us to extend expertise and guidance to all our customers, who are interested in digital printing without the loss of speed, quality or reliability. We shall jointly launch this equipment with Screen at Labelexpo Brussels and of course look forward to presenting Truepress on our Stand 5D20.’
