Embellishments: thermography
Thermography is a heat activated print finish that in some forms can offer interesting opportunities to add a decorative quality to labels, packaging and other paper-based products.
Thermographic printing is a more cost effective and practical alternative to the die-stamping and intaglio printing processes. The difference between these processes is that the die stamped and intaglio process raises the surface of the ‘substrate’ (paper), whilst the thermographic process lifts the ‘printed’ image to create a raised ‘embossed’ effect on the image area.
