Domino diversifies into corrugated box production market
Domino Digital Printing Solutions is about to enter the digital corrugated printing space and will be launching X630i, its first digital inkjet-based single pass product via a virtual event on June 16.
Domino has a long history of developing and manufacturing coding, marking and digital ink jet printing technologies. The company has been supplying inkjet equipment for digital printing in the packaging converter space, but also directly to FMCG producers in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. So, whilst Domino's background is digital printing, it is also heavily involved with packaging.
With nearly 1000 worldwide installations Domino will launch its first digital inkjet press for the corrugated industry and introduce the new business model for box production.
Matt Condon, business development manager at Domino said: ‘The single pass Domino X630i digital ink jet press has been designed for everyday corrugated production, allowing corrugated box printers to maximize productivity and efficiency, and minimize cost, ink consumption and waste. It will enable them to profitably develop short and medium run market opportunities; facilitate new streams of business and provide a more complete range of capability for their customer base.’
This virtual event, initially planned as exhibition launch in what would have been the first day of drupa 2020, will be opened by a print and packaging industry expert Dr Sean Smyth. He will take a look at the corrugated sector market trends, the impact Covid-19 pandemic, and the growing trend to adopt digital technology. Smith will also interview Finn MacDonald from Kentucky based Independent II, to discover why they decided to take their first step into digital with Domino.
During this event, Domino will also launch a new ink set based on novel water-based ink technology.
The registration is now open on Domino website.
