GPA earns FSC chain-of-custody certificate

GPA has received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification on a variety of its Ultra Digital coated and uncoated papers. This means that customers can be sure that the wood and pulp used in GPA’s finished product is traceable to responsibly managed forests, and that there are documented controls in place to make sure that the integrity of the environment is upheld.

‘The Forest Stewardship Council’s standards represent the world's strongest system for guiding forest management toward environmental responsibility and creating sustainable results,’ said Mike Ratcliff, president of GPA. ‘At GPA, we're committed to working with our suppliers and customers by doing our part in this worldwide initiative to protect the environment and our natural resources.’

Registration was obtained from Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), an independent registrar, for all GPA facilities. GPA’s certification is audited on an annual basis by SCS to assure that it is in line with the strict guidelines set forth by the FSC.

GPA has plans to continue adding FSC certified products to its Ultra Digital line of coated and uncoated papers in the coming year.
