Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), a distributor of flexo presses and associated equipment in the Indian sub-continent, has organized a press meet at New Delhi, attended by a host of the company’s principals and the trade press. The meet took place on July 18, 2023 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, New Delhi.
FIG is a sole India distributor of machines from renowned international brands such as Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum, and Presstek.
Attended at the press meet were FIG’s principals including Manohar Dhugga, director of engineering and service, Rotoflex; Phil Baldwin, European sales manager, Mark Andy; and Krisyanto Ekokurniawan, international sales manager, Luster LightTech.
Gourav Roy, Managing Director, Flexo Image Graphics, said: ‘We have been catering various flexo presses and allied machines in India over the last 23 years. Headquartered in New Delhi, we have branches in Mumbai and Chennai, backed by our team of 42 well-trained and experienced technical and marketing professionals.
Ekokurniawan gave a keynote on Luster’s 100 percent false detection systems.
Roy added that over the last 2-3 years, FIG has carried out several installations of Rotoflex and Mark Andy presses as main products. FIG boasts a clientele of 322 customers in India alone with some in the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
‘Today, the flexo market is quite mature with full of opportunities and possibilities. So, FIG has been constantly developing and extending training processes to machine operators. In fact, we are planning to launch training courses, which will include hands-on training programs and theoretical classes, Roy said.
Dhugga added: ‘Having been in the industry for more than 30 years with Rotoflex, a brand known for high-speed slitting, rewinding and inspection machines, as well as advanced die-cutting systems. I am quite privileged to be able to take part in the company’s long and successful journey. We are proud of implementing full automation in our slitting rewinding machines which we have so far a score of 6500 installations worldwide, including Southeast Asia.'
Recalling his early days in the industry and experiences at Mark Andy, Baldwin said: ‘I actually entered the printing industry straight out of school when I was just 17. So far, I have completed my 26 years in the industry and 11 years at Mark Andy. With accurate register control and other features, Mark Andy presses are designed for ease of use, without trained operators. Actually, we design our presses to help the converters increase the bottom line.’
Luster has been in India as one of the key principles of FIG.
‘It has been quite good for us to have a localized support for our customers,' mentioned Ekokurniawan, adding that the company have introduced quite a number of machines with 100 percent inspection, specifically for the label and packaging sectors. Luster has several products such as inline workflow and offline inspection for the label industry.
Roy concluded that customers are looking for machines and technologies that improve the internal processes to help operators run machines at ease and adopt advanced technologies such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) that are in demand by FIG customers. ‘Time has changed as the industry is on the pathway to revolutionary and ultramodern machines and technologies for printing, production, automation, finishing, and others processes, which we have all under our roof.’
