Dutch printer expands digital capability with country’s first HP Indigo 30000
Ovimex is to boost the digital production of folding carton and synthetics as the first user of an HP Indigo 30000 in the Netherlands.
The new HP Indigo 30000 will be installed in February 2018 to further develop the company’s folding carton and synthetics production.
Ovimex, which is already an established player in the digital commercial and publishing printing market, is set to launch smart business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) offerings for a broad range of short run or personalized products made from carton and synthetics. The move will support the company’s strategy to further merge its roles as a digital printer and a cross-media specialist.
Ovimex was founded in 1922, and introduced its first digital printer in 2002. In addition to the new HP Indigo 30000 press, Ovimex has an HP Indigo 5500, HP Indigo 7600 and HP PageWide T240 inkjet web press. Additionally, Ovimex will install a Tresu twin coater with the HP Indigo 30000. The printed sheets will be finished in-line with 100 percent water-based varnish and optional spot UV varnish. An off-line die-cutting press and folding and glue machine from Kama will deliver a complete box or sleeve.
Ovimex CEO Frank Dijkman said: ‘HP continues to meet our customers’ demands and has provided us with the capabilities to expand our client services. We believe that using different HP technologies all under one roof offers us a unique position for the future, especially with the addition of the HP Indigo 30000 and finishing equipment.’
