Hotpack Global installs Comexi F2 MB
Hotpack Global, UAE’s global food packaging company, has expanded its market share in the flexible packaging sector by acquiring a Comexi F2 MB flexographic printing press and a Comexi SL2 Evolution laminator with Synaptic Closed Loop.
'This is a very important operation for both parties,' said Comexi's area manager, Oriol Rabert. 'The Comexi F2 MB acquired by Hotpack Global, has the latest technology, including Comexi Cloud, the best longitudinal register on the market (only 25 microns), and a tension control of only 20N for stretch films such as PE, which is increasingly used due to its recyclability.'
In reference to the SL2 Evolution laminator, this machine incorporates the GScan Synaptic Closed Loop sensor that minimizes the amount of adhesive used, reduces machine downtime to almost zero, and eliminates quality issues. 'Ultimately, cost is reduced, and productivity is increased, as every reel is accepted. This translates into satisfied customers,' said Rabert.
The agreement, the first between the two companies, was signed between Manel Xifra, president of Comexi, and Abdul Jebbar, group managing director of Hotpack Global.
Founded in 1995, Hotpack Global offers complete range of sustainable food packaging products to the foodservice and hospitality industries following the highest quality standards. The group has branches all over the Middle East, UK, USA, Australia, and many regions of Africa, and exports spanning over 100 countries. Backed with its 27 years of experience and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, Hotpack products are widely recognized all over the world for their quality standards, and possess all major quality accreditations, that of ISO, BRCGS, USFDA, Sedex, FSC, PEFC, and ESMA certifications.
The Comexi F2 MB machine is designed for the combination of short and medium runs and processing a full range of flexible packaging applications. The F2 MB features every ergonomic solution of the F2 family. It incorporates GeniusTech system to assist printers in conquering the primary challenges they currently encounter, which include a lack of skilled operators, job length reduction, and an increased number of job changes, among others. According to the company, high importance has been given to systems that focus on providing expeditious job changeover, which include: the GeniusFlow for rapid cleaning, automatic set up system GeniusSet and GeniusReg to shorten time and minimize waste; or GeniusData to shorten the start-up of a new job because the parameters of an existing job can be stored and reused.
The new SL2 Evolution is a compact solventless laminator consciously designed with automation, reliability, and productivity. According to Comexi, the completely renovated interface, and inclusive top-level options, make this machine the leading performance option for solventless lamination. Among these options, the closed loop system is of special mention; it automatically adjusts and maintains the adhesive grammage without solvents throughout the production process.
