Mexican printer targets flexible packaging with Edale
Mayapack Impresos SA de CV has installed an eight colour, 350mm-wide Edale FL-3 UV flexo press into its factory in Toluca, Mexico as it looks to move into unsupported flexible packaging printing.

The machine was installed in mid-July after extensive factory acceptance testing at Edale, which was then followed up by an additional weeks training carried out by Edale’s in-house printer and technical support manager Darron Shimmons.
The FL-3 that Mayapack purchased has a number of features including delam/relam, lamination, turn bar and hot-foil, which all sit along the rail system.
Edale’s agents for Mexico, Romexsa, has a strong connection and a long-term relationship with Mayapack, so was well positioned when the company looked to move its business forward and begin to print unsupported flexible packaging materials.
Mayapack is the first company in Mexico to have an Edale FL-3 machine installed and Edale export sales director Bernhard Grob said: ‘This is a very important installation for both Edale and also Romexsa, because Central and South America are growing markets for us, and having Mayapack as a reference site for potential customers to visit a live production site, is a big advantage.’
Cristian Reyes, owner of Mayapack, said: We dealt with Romexsa for our previous flexo press purchases and we are delighted that Romexsa have moved up the ladder with Edale. I have full trust in the people, the technical support and the equipment they provide.’
