Avery Dennison Europe introduces sustainable papers
Avery Dennison Europe has launched three white, uncoated papers made from 100 percent recycled fibers to expand further its portfolio of post-consumer recycled materials offering premium products for wine, spirits, food, and beverage.
According to the company, industry regulations, company environmental policies, and consumer demands all contribute to the rising need for sustainable labels and packaging. Avery Dennison offers a portfolio of papers, films, and liners made from recycled content to help businesses reach their sustainability targets.
‘For an attainable approach to sustainable packaging, brands and converters need access to a diverse range of label solutions that align with the application needs of different products, such as high-volume printing and premium textures,’ said the company in a statement. ‘Avery Dennison has invested in recycled materials with a broad range of structure, thickness, and pattern complexity to ensure companies can find a sustainable label solution that fits their product positioning.’
The new range is expanding the company’s sustainable label portfolio with three papers made with 100 percent recycled fibers. These white, uncoated wood-free papers offer a similar look, feel, and performance as conventional alternatives and all feature wet strength treatment.
These are especially suited for wine, spirits, craft beer, premium food and beverage, and cosmetics and include rNaturel Touch Craft, a thick paper with a cotton-like texture for a craft, traditional look; rNoble Blanc, a matt paper with a felt marked finish and rSable Blanc, a smooth, matt paper.
Combining the new recycled fiber papers with other sustainable products from Avery Dennison can improve the brand owners’ eco-credentials. Semi-gloss rMC paper is an efficient option for back labels and is made from 100 percent recycled fibers. Labels that require a strong ice bucket performance can use rPLUS underlaminate, made with 70 percent post-consumer recyclate, to create complex construction as sustainable as possible.
Liner waste can be reduced by using rPET liners made from 30 percent recycled materials and by taking part in Avery Dennison’s label-liner recycling program, AD Circular.
