Comexi Proslit grows beyond flexibles

Comexi Proslit is to launch a new slitter rewinder to help the company break into markets where it has not previously had a strong presence.
 
The S-turret is being targeted at the rigid and semi-rigid material converting markets, such as cardboard, lids, paper and markets related to personal care and pharmaceuticals.
 
Comexi Proslit said the new slitter rewinder aims to make significant progress in markets outside of flexible packaging where it has not had a large presence up until now, but has had minimal exposure thanks to machines such as the Duo2 HD and Eikon.
 
Main features of the S-turret are: an unwinder with three possible maximum diameters from 1,000mm, 1,250mm and 1,550mm, with a capacity to support weights of 1,350kg, 2,150kg, and 3,000kg respectively; possible machine widths of 1,400mm, 1,700mm and 2,200mm; the ability to handle rewind reels up to 1,000mm in diameter; and the capacity support a maximum weight along the entire width of the rewinder shaft of 1,000kg.
 
The S-turret also features a number of innovations, such as: the Advance Linea Winding System, a control system that maintains the lay-on roller fixed to the frame and moves the rewind reel shaft as it becomes larger; a bowed roller especially intended for variable and adjustable bow pre-rewinding applications; and Direct Drive technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce maintenance times.
 
The Comexi Proslit S-turret slitter rewinder will be on show at Drupa 2012 in hall 10.
