Kamman announces flat screen head for narrow web presses

Kammann has announced a new modular flat screen head web printing module, designed with an open architecture to allow integration with any narrow web printing machine. The flat screen head utilizes Kammann's precision-based servo-technology expertise, and adds high quality screen printing capability. Kammann's patented flat screen printing technology is less parts-, labor-, and time-intensive than traditional rotary screen printing for many applications, and will greatly enhance printing flexibility, says the company.
‘Adding this flat screen technology will help printing operations diversify their offerings to their clients,’ said Steve Gilbertson, president of Kammann Machines. ‘Kammann's precision technology has now been “modularized” to bring cost-effective, high-quality solutions to printing converters that are looking to extend the life and capability of their existing equipment.’
The Kammann flat screen module supports hot melt, UV, or standard screen inks, and incorporates a standard flat screen mesh made of polyester with an aluminum frame. Its cost compares favorably with conventional screens, and can potentially save up to 80 percent of screen costs compared to rotary screen systems.
