SPGPrints introduces rotaLEN direct HD laser engraver

rotaLEN is a direct laser engraving system for imaging images onto SPGPrints’ non-woven nickel re-engraveable RotaMesh and reusable RotaPlate screens with resolutions up to 4000 DPI in one fully digital step. This single-step process is described by the company as a proven means of reducing press downtime during printing.

The engraver’s sealed CO₂ laser ablates the printed areas without film, chemicals or water. Files can be prepared with SPGPrints’ software, providing optimum control when creating fine positive and negative images. 

The new rotaLEN engraver accommodates RotaMesh screens up to 26in in length, or a wider drum, that allows two RotaPlate engraving jobs in a single engraving cycle, thereby reducing handling times and improving the efficiency of the pre-press stage.   

The engraver also features an improved laser system that engraves screens to HD (high definition) quality standards. This facilitates precise, clear reproduction of fine characters and oriental text. The enhanced laser system enables converters to meet the demand, especially from personal care brand owners, for optimum clarity when providing more information on the label.  

rotaLEN is compatible with the company’s complete rotary screen range.
