Platinum Press completes headquarters expansion
Texas-based printer invests in a Durst Tau RSCi press and expands its headquarters by 70,000 sqft.
Platinum Press has completed a 15 million USD investment at its Fort Worth, TX headquarters, which has seen an increase in its overall floor space by nearly 50 percent and new additions to its machine park, including the Durst Tau RSCi digital press with customized finishing units.
One aspect of Platinum Press's multifaceted expansion is substantially increased space for manufacturing, inventory storage, final product warehousing and logistics, which aims to shorten lead times while reinforcing overall quality.
The initiative also increased Platinum Press’ overall staff to 300, a milestone as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The company invested in a new Durst Tau RSCi press offering 7-color ‘true’ 1,200x1,200px resolution even at maximum speeds. It utilizes FDA-compliant inks for indirect food/drug contact.
The machine’s off-line finishing units allow small- and medium-run specialty product production of booklet-style or two-ply extended-text labels.
Platinum Press also purchased two Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 X printing presses, which can run a wide variety of materials and produce up to 18,000 sheets per hour.
Concurrent with the expansion and infrastructure investment, Platinum Press has plans to introduce several new packaging options in the coming months.
‘The floorspace expansion and infrastructure investments at our Fort Worth headquarters address both growing customer demands and evolving industry needs,’ said Andrew Vale, vice president of Platinum Press. ‘As we simultaneously heighten capacity and extend capabilities across a number of categories, Platinum Press is paving the way for several new product introductions throughout 2024 and beyond.’
