Tidland launches heavy-duty electronic knifeholder

Tidland Corporation, a supplier of slitting and winding products for the web handling industry, has launched the Class III e-Knifeholder. Designed for reliable operation in harsh environments, the Class III expands the existing line of e-Knifeholder products.

A dust-tight, water resistant enclosure, easy setup and operation, and automatic calibration of side-force and overlap ensure reliable performance in demanding, mill-duty operations, says the company. Once the ideal settings are configured, at the factory or via an electronic interface, changeover can occur without operator intervention and new operators reportedly can be fully trained in less than 90 seconds.

The e-Knifeholder is the result of interactions with many experienced people identifying the need for a knifeholder that is easy to set up consistently and reliably,’ said Peter Wood, product manager for Tidland. ‘We designed the Class III with the harshest environments in mind, so our customers with extreme demands can experience the simplicity of an electronic knifeholder.’
