Omet to show narrow web lines at Drupa
Italian press manufacturer Omet will be demonstrating two of its latest narrow web lines at Drupa, an eight-color 530mm Varyflex V2 and a six-color 430mm XFlex X6.
The Varyflex V2 is designed for flexible packaging and carton printing, offering a platform that allows interchange of print units and converting stations for minimal waste. It will focus on printed packaging for different sectors, and highlight in-line lamination, which can be solvent, UV, cold seal, or hot melt.
The XFlex X6 is a multi-process, multi-substrate press aimed at converters needing to combine different processes with maximum operational efficiency. These include simple to complex labels, shrink sleeves, in-mold applications and booklets. The Drupa machine will feature a digital unit integrated in-line that is capable of 50m/min production.
Both presses use the latest generation electronics for ease and speed of control, with a high degree of automation. Register control is by Vision-2 on the Varyflex V2, and Vision-1 on the X-Flex X6, for enhanced quality, consistency and printing speed.
